Description
Children can learn a lot about what gears are and what they do by simply handling them, connecting them together and playing with them. This set however takes children on a voyage of discovery by breaking down exactly what gears do within a system. Children are set tasks provided in an easy to follow 10 lesson guide (with background notes for the teacher or parent) which reveal the secrets of how to increase speed, how to reverse direction, how to gain mechanical advantage and so on. All of the components are provided plus a video for each of the 10 lessons. In addition, once the children have completed the course, there are 5 entertaining challenges for the children to tackle based upon a problem to solve. A pupil task sheet is provided at the end of each lesson to cement the learning principles and to reinforce the correct technical vocabulary. A wonderful and fun way to learn the facts about exactly what gears do.
