Bongo drums are played by tapping fingers, palms or hands onto the top skin of the drum to create a wonderful beat. Bongos come as a pair because they each produce a slightly different tone. Tapping the edges or the centre of the drums creates different sounds too. In the classroom children can use bongos to create their own rhythms, play them as an accompaniment to a song or piece of music or they can be used by the teacher when the children are singing or chanting songs and rhymes.
